1992 - 2007

Since 1992, the Regional Access Project Foundation, Inc. (RAP) has continued to fulfill its mission of addressing and providing assistance for   unmet needs    in the areas of Health, Mental Health and Juvenile Intervention throughout Riverside County’s Supervisor’s 4th District and a section of the 3rd District.

In fiscal year 2006-07 our Foundation has provided nearly $1,000,000.00 in cash grants including $250,000 in direct technical support to schools, governmental agencies, churches and community based organizations.  The RAP Foundation’s Technical Assistance Program (TAP) provides consultants and services for capacity building, organizational development, strategic planning, fund raising planning, seminars and educational opportunities to individuals and groups providing services for outreach within RAP’s mission.  This year approximately 100 non-profit agencies have received assistance from TAP; and, through our educational opportunities we now have 23 recipients of certification in Nonprofit Organizational Management from UCR Extension.  A move to new offices now allows for three new meeting opportunities for nonprofits as the new space includes three conference rooms, two of which can be joined together.

This fiscal year, an economic disaster resulting from the “freeze” conditions impacted a majority of programs in eastern Riverside County and the State of California.  A significant amount of time, funding and energy was spent by RAP to address the critical level of hunger in our residents of all ages.  As the result of efforts that were successful and those that were not, and discussions with hunger service providers RAP has determined to continue work toward improving the service delivery system in order to assure that we are not faced with the same scenario as was experienced this year.  By developing a system of coordinated activities between food pantries and service delivery organizations and funders, we hope to see improvement in the lives of residents living without the resources most of us take for granted.  And, while hunger has been a priority, other areas of programs were not missed as other funding areas included  after school programs, academic achievement, adult ESL, transportation assistance, and others to meet our mission of health, mental health and juvenile intervention.

We are especially proud of the volunteer spirit that is prevalent with our Advisory Committees and the commitment of our leadership.  Without the support of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors our Foundation would not have had the opportunity to serve the 3rd and 4th Districts.  We are grateful for their dedication to helping our communities.  Because of the compassion and dedication of people with vision for the 3rd and 4th District areas, and countless volunteers, the Regional Access Project Foundation will   continue to grow.
