Shop
Shop the stores
located in the Costco shopping center. A major part of RAP
Foundation funding comes from an agreement with the County of
Riverside, and their agreement with the City of Palm Desert
Redevelopment Agency. Their agreement directs an amount of money equal to the sales tax
collected by the City of Palm Desert to be matched by the
Redevelopment Agency and passed to the Regional Access
Project Foundation to be used in providing services or access to service
in the areas of health, mental health, and juvenile intervention for
residents of eastern Riverside County. Every time you shop
the stores in the Costco Shopping Center, you help local charities.
Donations and Gifts to the Regional
Access Project Foundation
While the Regional
Access Project Foundation does not participate in traditional fund
raising activities, as we do not want to compete with the
organizations we serve, we do accept donations and gifts.
Unrestricted gifts provide the flexibility necessary for the
foundation to address unmet need that currently exists or may arise
during our fiscal year. But donations may be made directly to the
RAP Foundation specifically for the benefit of an individual
charity, or a specific type of charitable activity. For example
- after school programs, senior nutrition etc. The RAP Foundation
currently funds dozens of programs
and organizations annually through funds that are specifically
designated for focus areas. But whenever possible, we encourage
the community to help us expand our grant making through
unrestricted gifts to help us meet needs that normally would not
be addressed.
Estate Planning
Include a planned
charitable gift to the Regional Access Project Foundation. The RAP
Foundation accepts gifts of cash, real estate and bequests
through wills or trusts. Make the RAP Foundation the recipient of an
insurance policy. Speak to your estate planning attorney or
financial advisor about gifts that provide income.
Gifts may be made
directly to the Regional Access Project Foundation; however, estate
planning requires the assistance of your financial advisor, estate or
tax planning attorney or CPA. Please be aware of IRS tax
deduction requirements as they relate to charitable donations. In the
event that you itemize your deductions, please speak to your tax advisor
regarding the actual amount that may be deducted for charitable
purposes.
The Regional Access Project Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit, tax-exempt,
public benefit corporation as identified in Section 501(C)(3) of the
Internal Revenue Codes. Gifts to the Regional Access Project Foundation
are charitable contributions.
Always consult a qualified professional when considering donations to a
charitable organization. Be selective about your charitable
contributions. Make sure the charity does what it says it will do.
